Bit of a long shot but anyone managed to get alertme sensors to work with the new Amazon Echo or Samsung Smartthings?
Thanks

Re: Smart things
You'd need to have something in between the two, such as the IFTT service or some of your own code - there's no way to directly link the two, unfortunately. The AlertMe / Hive sensors chat over a protocol called Zigbee, which neither the Echo or Samsung systems support.
Although... if you're using Hive rather than AlertMe, there are some features supported by the Echo, I believe. Maybe just thermostat setting, but I'm sure I remember hearing about something.

Alerty - you could control your AlertMe system with my third-party app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Used to be available on iTunes!

Re: Smart things
Smartthings does actually support Zigbee, but no one has written the ST device code (yet) to be able to communicate with the Hive/AlertMe devices. This is because Hive have opted for to drift slightly away from the standard Zigbee HA protocol making it non-standard.
It is theoretically possible to write SmartThings 'devise drivers' which would be able to communicate directly with Hive/AlertMe devices.

Re: Smart things
The ST hub does use ZigBee, all the devices they supply with the Hub are ZigBee. It also has Z-Wave for the EU frequency, but I don’t have any devices that use that yet to try.
I will try resetting an old AlertMe device and see if it will pair with my Samsung SmartThing Hub.

Re: Smart things
Just to say that as it stands ZIgBee on the Samsung SmartThings Hub does not pair with AlertMe ZigBee sensors.
Once the AlertMe server is switched off at the end of this month all of my AlertMe hardware will be offered for sale to anyone that has a use for them. I understand that some are interested in trying to make their own system with AlertMe hardware. I will publish a list once I have removed everything from the house.
Stay tuned.
I won’t be charging silly money as I cannot offer warranty of any kind, it is sold as is.
