Here's a little question. I'm pretty sure that the AlertMe Hub runs some variant of Linux; not certain, but it seems very likely.
So where's the source code, as required by the GPL licence?
I know everything is pushed out by AlertMe, so there's not really much scope for flashing it with something different and still have it perform it's original duty, but it's interesting nonetheless. I still hold out some vague hope that they will allow API calls to the local hub instead of having to go via their own servers someday.

Alerty - you could control your AlertMe system with my third-party app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Used to be available on iTunes!
Re: AlertMe Hub Firmware
Partly the reason I haven't bought any of the AlertMe kit yet is because there is no 'local' API. I don't want to have to rely on the AlertMe servers when there is too much to go wrong (e.g., my internet connection not working, servers not working, company going bust, etc).
It really looks like a nicely polished product but until there's some source or local API, I'm just going to keep waiting!

Re: AlertMe Hub Firmware
As I found out, it can be even worse than that, as AM throttle API connections.... in reality this means you can only check on statuses of things every so often.
For example, one app I wrote checked every 10 seconds as to the power being used, any less than that and the API would lock me out.
AM are open to unthrottling, but that was a long while back when the API first came out, with their altered priorities (whatever they are), I'm not sure that'd be quite so easy these days.
