Hello all,
Ive been an AM customer for nearly 3 years and have had endless problems with it.
All sorted out in the end, however i keep getting them. Ususally to do with signal dropouts for no reason.
So, im binning my system and wondered what else was out there.
There are so many other systems, but i have no idea which are any good, or useful.
Any alternative systems ?
Re: Any alternative systems ?
there is one called myhome247 but it's really ugly! There is the new Yale Smarthome system which costs a pretty penny but miles better than am
Re: Any alternative systems ?
Agreed, that myhome247 one is just daft. Have you seen the size of those devices? And whip aerials on the door sensors? Come on - they should definitely have gone with a different radio system.pavilion wrote:there is one called myhome247 but it's really ugly! The Sercomm RC8021 camera gets around a bit though.

Alerty - you could control your AlertMe system with my third-party app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Used to be available on iTunes!
Re: Any alternative systems ?
I saw that Yale SmartHome. Looks good, and if it actually works, then its probably worth the money, however im not looking to spend over £1000 on one, so may look at what they can offer. I cant find any prices on their webstepavilion wrote:there is one called myhome247 but it's really ugly! There is the new Yale Smarthome system which costs a pretty penny but miles better than am

Interesting on the webpage: "With its beautiful touch-screen control panel".
Doesn't look like a touch-screen control panel to me.... not even the one in the brochure.
Interesting too that they have a few features AM don't. And indeed some that AM Really should have by now (time controlled for example).
That said, I really don't think AM are in the security business any more, so doubt they'll do much to try and match this.

Yes, I noticed that too. Definitely not a touchscreen.phil4 wrote:Interesting on the webpage: "With its beautiful touch-screen control panel".

Maybe it's more like a thermostat I have; you don't touch the screen, but rather some touch-sensitive buttons around the side.
